Empty Bowls is the main source of funding for the Happy Kids Backpack program. It is also a volunteer run event that brings people from the community together as a reminder of hunger in our community.
If you are unfamiliar with New Richmond's Empty Bowls event, it is an annual event that donates all monies raised to the New Richmond Happy Kids Backpack program. The Happy Kids Backpack program allows kids to take food home in a backpack for the weekend to help provides to those that otherwise might not have meals to eat. This program is currently used by over 70 families per week right here in our community!
